Is there a free Topstep trading journal?
Yes. VeloTape Free includes unlimited journaling and Prop Desk for Topstep — no credit card. Import TopstepX CSV on Free.
Does Prop Desk use live Topstep balances?
No. Compliance is computed from closed trades in VeloTape. It does not stream live MTM from TopstepX. The firm portal is authoritative.
Do you send alerts when I near daily loss?
Prop Desk shows in-app gauges, chips, and a portfolio risk strip with a warning near the limit. It does not email, push, or stop your next click.
Is Topstep the same as Apex import?
No. Apex usually runs on Tradovate or Rithmic; new Topstep accounts use TopstepX. Use the matching import path for each firm.
